It is so easy and natural for the narcissist to lie without hesitation or conscience. Lying is a form of control and manipulation that the narcissist uses. The narcissist constantly lies. He or she tells lies that are despicably designed to ruin your professional or personal reputation. He or she will tell others that you are mentally and psychological unstable, that you have stolen something valuable, are taking drugs, are a secret drunk, that you are having an affair. During a divorce process lies flow like gushers from the narcissist. Narcissists lie about their financial assets. They convince others that they are "good people" and you are the villain. I was married to a narcissist and this excerpt really explains my ex-spouse's lying tactics. They are revisionist historians. If the facts don't fit their story then too bad for the facts. They can twist those facts so convincingly that even a person that witnessed the events will be shocked. They tell their lies so convincingly and with such conviction that it puts you off guard and makes you question yourself. If a person who is there has to painstakingly piece together reality, what chance does a judge have in determining the truth when a Narcissist is lying? Not much!

It's amazing how they are able to convince others that they are victims, even after taking everything from you - your life, your peace, your resources. They tell others that you're the crazy one, not them.
