The title of this blog is a very strong comment. I am speaking to those who are suffering this moment with destructive relationships to narcissistic spouses and partners. Narcissists take people over as their possessions. They are very clever at this providing many incentives to stay in the marriage with them.  Ultimately, the narcissist, regardless of his or her extraordinary success and stature in the world, is two faced. In private these individuals spew volcanic rage, rule by intimidation, obsessively control your life and never offer any form of empathy.  Ask yourself if you are willing and able to give up your life to a narcissistic spouse. Can you make the accommodations within the marriage to this individual so that you can preserve enough of your life to pursue your creative gifts and life goals. If not, what are the consequences of divorcing this person. As you think about your alternatives, study the narcissistic personality disorder so that you understand very clearly with whom you are dealing.
