Narcissist Plays Victim

When a narcissist is divorcing or breaking up with a spouse or partner, he or she choreographs a complex dance. In the end, he plans to get all the applause and most of the assets. Narcisssist often force the issue and make your life so miserable that you have no choice but to get out.

The narcissist is determined to win in the divorce theater. He takes everything he can possibly grab: possessions, real estate, stock, annuties, cash.  If he doent think he is drawing enough blood., he pushes harder, knowing just how to tweak each nerve ending. He rants on with frightening scenarios of you on the street with the kids if you dont go along with his script.  Some of the major lines are: "Do it my way or else." You are nothing without me."  " My lawyers will destroy you."

. The narcissist hides assets, sends them offshore, sells off valuable paintings and sculptures, breaks up his medical or law practice, severs his relationship with a business partner---all in the name of suddenly becoming "destitute."  One of the narcissist's last acts  that can influence most people, even experienced judges, is to play the victim. His final scene  is melodramatic: a tear materializes in the corner of his eye, then a mild drizzle, followed by drops and finally the crescendo--- sonorus sobbing into a hand cupped face.

The straining of  credulity with this picture is that it is the narcissist who has caused most of this pain. A spouse or partner may have contributed to some extent but the narcissist wrote the marriage script.  Finding out that he or she was bored with the spouse or had found a more attractive, sexier, more compliant replacement, it was time to change partners.  It is wise to remember that narcissists have no limits. They will take whatever they can from you without a blink and at the same time, whine that you have victimized them.  Visit my website:www.thenarcissistinyourlife.com
